Your New Beginning

What Comes Next

You made the most important decision of your life. Now the adventure begins. Here are four essential steps to help you grow in your new relationship with Jesus.

01

Get Baptized

Baptism is your first public declaration that you belong to Jesus. It does not save you — that already happened when you believed. But it is an outward expression of the inward change. Jesus Himself was baptized, and He calls every believer to follow His example.

When you go under the water, it represents your old life being buried. When you come up, it represents the new life you have in Christ. It is a powerful, beautiful moment that you will never forget.

Talk to a local pastor about getting baptized. Most churches will walk you through the process and celebrate this step with you.

02

Find a Church Home

You were not meant to do this alone. God designed the Christian life to be lived in community — with other believers who can encourage you, challenge you, and walk alongside you.

A good church is not about a perfect building or a famous pastor. Look for a place where the Bible is taught faithfully, where people genuinely care about each other, and where you feel welcomed and able to grow.

Do not be discouraged if the first church you visit is not the right fit. Keep searching. Ask God to lead you to the community He has for you. When you find it, commit to showing up — even when it is hard.

03

Start Talking to God

Prayer is simply talking to God. It is not about fancy words or religious formulas — it is a conversation with your Father who loves you deeply.

You can pray anywhere, anytime. In the morning before your day starts. In the car on your commute. Late at night when the world is quiet. God is always listening.

Start with honesty. Tell Him what you are grateful for. Tell Him what you are struggling with. Ask Him for help. Thank Him for saving you. The more you talk to Him, the more natural it becomes — and the more you will begin to hear His voice guiding your life.

04

Read the Bible

The Bible is God's word to you. It is how He speaks, how He reveals His character, and how He guides your life. Reading it is not a chore — it is a lifeline.

If you are just starting out, we recommend beginning with the Gospel of John. It tells the story of Jesus in a way that is personal and powerful. From there, try the Psalms for comfort and worship, and Proverbs for practical wisdom.

Do not worry about understanding everything right away. The Bible is a lifetime book — you will discover new things every time you open it. Start with just a few minutes a day and let it grow from there.
